Parking Compliance Is Mandatory – Zero Tolerance Going Forward

Dec 12, 2025

General

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

This message is being sent as a serious and urgent reminder regarding parking compliance, respect for our neighbors, and proper Islamic conduct, especially during Jummah and special events. Unfortunately, despite repeated reminders, announcements, signage, and multiple khutbahs by our Imam, some members of our community continue to ignore parking rules. This behavior is unacceptable and does not represent Islam or the values our Masjid stands for.

Let us be very clear:

  • It is not fair for a very small number of individuals—often arriving late for Jummah, to ruin it for the entire community.

  • This is NOT Islam.

  • This is NOT what our religion teaches us.

🚨 Recent Incident & Consequences

Last week alone, four vehicles were towed at the owners’ expense, and the Police were called due to an escalated incident. These actions were taken by neighboring businesses after repeated violations. Towing will continue for anyone who parks illegally or disrespectfully.

With winter conditions and snow, parking is already more challenging, but this does not give anyone the right to disrespect our neighbors or private property. As a direct result of ongoing violations, police were called, and the situation escalated far beyond what should ever occur around a place of worship.

🚗 Parking Rules – No Exceptions

You MUST park ONLY in the following approved areas:

  • Masjid-designated parking

  • Public street parking (where legally permitted)

  • Exact Sciences designated parking areas (as explicitly allowed)

🚫 You are NOT allowed to park at:

  • Any other private businesses

  • Madinah Academy when school is in session

  • Any lot with “No Parking” or Tow-Away signage

Violations will result in:

  • Immediate towing at the owner’s expense

  • No intervention from the Masjid

  • Continued enforcement by neighboring businesses and authorities

⚠️ Risk to the Entire Community

If this behavior continues, we risk:

  • Losing our parking agreement with Exact Sciences Corporation

  • Further police involvement

  • Escalation to the City of Madison

  • Permanent damage to our relationship with surrounding businesses

  • Long-term consequences for Masjid operations and future expansion

🕌 A Final Reminder

Attending Jummah late does not justify haram behavior.
Blocking businesses, endangering people, yelling, threatening others, or ignoring rules contradicts the Sunnah and the akhlaq of a Muslim.

The Prophet ﷺ said:

“The Muslim is the one from whose tongue and hand others are safe.”

This includes our neighbors.

We ask everyone to:

  • Plan ahead

  • Arrive early

  • Park legally

  • Act responsibly

  • Represent Islam with dignity

This matter will continue to be enforced strictly. There will be no leniency.

May Allah guide us to act with wisdom, respect, and accountability.
